Archive for January, 2012

As per the previous post and the challenge laid down by dogeardiscs, I have decided to try and get through the following categories/books. Ive plumped for 12 as I can see some logic in one a month (and it will give me a bit of time to get some reading outside of the categories). Some are only tentatively linked to the categories, but hey its my list and I’ll do what I want with it…

1.Crime/Mystery – Redbreast by Jo Nesbo
2.Thriller – Before I go to Sleep by S J Watson
3.Romance – The Marriage plot by Jeffery Eugenides
4.Sci-Fi – The Blackhouse by Peter May (Im not sure how this is Sci Fi, but Amazon says so….)
5.Non-Fiction – The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
6.Young Adult – Shelter by Harlan Coben
7.Historical Fiction – 11.22.63 by Stephen King (what?!? 1963 is historical….)
8.Comedy/Light– Cocunut Unlimited by Nikesh Shulka
9. Horror – 77 Shadow Street by Dean Koontz
10.Noir – Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis
11.Drama – Room by Emma Donoghue
12.Classic – The Moonstone by Wilke Collins

To kick things off, Im starting with “Before I go to Sleep”.  Following that, I’ll see where the mood takes me….

2012, here I come..

Wow, I almost forgot this blog even existed it’s been so long since I posted anything. Well seeing as it’s a new year I thought Id start it back up again. I’m not going to even attempt the One a day challenge, but will just post my rubbish whenever I feel up to it.

To start off with though, and in lieu of any “real” new year resolutions, I’m going to post later a list of the books/movies/other things I want to get through this year. And to give me some impetus with the books Im going to have a go at dogeardiscs “Around the stack” challenge ( http://dogeardiscs.wordpress.com/2011/12/06/around-the-stack-in-how-many-ways-a-2012-book-challenge/).

So this blog will become a place to park my thoughts on the books chosen, and also any other nonsense I feel like.

Probably mostly nonsense.
